Retour sur The Thing / Back to The Thing

La seule publication à s'être intéressée convenablement au tournage du film de Carpenter à l'époque fût le Cinéfantastique de fin d'année 1982. Retour donc sur : les premiers concepts de l'artiste Dale Kuipers, qui seront fnalement abandonnés quand Rob Bottin rejoint le projet.Celui ci  s'acharnera pendant une année complète a produire des effets hors du commun (hélas aucun documents de Bottin au travail), Stan Winston s'occupera de l'effet de mutation du chien, la séquence générique créée par Peter Kuran, les storyboards et les concepts sfx très visuels de Mike Ploog, les plans en animation par Randy Cook, les peintures sur verre par Albert Whitlock.A noter que Rob Bottin recréera la tête araignée pour la couverture de ce numéro à partir du moule d'origine.
